Sticker Ordinance
The Village of Wonder Lake, Board of Trustees approved
the following ordinance on May 5, 2004. This ordinance enables the
Village of Wonder Lake, Lake Patrol officers to enforce the Master
Property Owners Association (MPOA) Recreational Sticker Policy that
requires all recreational vehicles operating on the waters of Wonder
Lake to first be registered with the MPOA and display a current sticker.
It also prohibits the operation of all automobiles, trucks and SUVs
from entering upon Wonder Lake at any time.
WHEREAS, Wonder Lake lies within the municipal boundaries of the
Village of Wonder Lake; and
WHEREAS, the Village of Wonder Lake and the Master Property Owners
Association (hereinafter referred to as the “MPOA”) entered
into an annexation agreement regarding Wonder Lake; and
WHEREAS, the Village of Wonder Lake has undertaken the regulation
of Wonder Lake pursuant to the annexation agreement between the Village
of Wonder Lake and the MPOA; and
WHEREAS, the Village and the MPOA desire to add additional regulatory provisions
by this ordinance; and,
WHEREAS, the MPOA requires stickers (decals) be purchased and affixed to recreational
vehicles; and
WHEREAS, the MPOA also provides for directional markings and buoys on Wonder
Lake; and
WHEREAS, the MPOA and the Village desire to prohibit automobiles, trucks ands
SUVs from entering and driving on Wonder Lake at any time.
NOW THEREFORE be it ordained by the President and Board of
Trustees of the Village of Wonder Lake, McHenry County,
Illinois as follows:
SECTION 1: The Village of Wonder Lake Police Department shall enforce the MPOA
sticker/decal policy adopted by the MPOA.
SECTION 2: The Village of Wonder Lake will enforce the location and directional
markings on buoys placed by the MPOA on Wonder Lake.
SECTION 3: That the Village of Wonder Lake Police Department will enforce all
state statutes, ordinances and rules and regulations which govern the recreational
use of Wonder Lake.
SECTION 4: That all automobiles, trucks and SUVs are strictly prohibited from
entering upon Wonder Lake at any time.
SECTION 5: Whoever violates any provision of this ordinance shall be fined
not less than $50.00 nor more than $500.00.
SECTION 6: If any section, paragraph, subdivision, clause, sentence or provision
of this ordinance shall be adjudged by any court of competent jurisdiction
to be invalid, such judgment shall not affect, impair, invalidate or nullify
the
remainder thereof, which remainder shall remain and continue in full force
and effect.
SECTION 7: All ordinances or parts of ordinances in conflict herewith are hereby
repealed to the extent of such conflict.
SECTION 8: This ordinance shall be in full force and effect upon its passage,
approval and publication as provided by law.
